I am always aiming to think outside of the box, whether it be in how to photograph a popular landmark in a unique or never before seen way, or how to use different techniques to create a shot while jumping past certain technical or other limitations. I was hired to work with the official UCSC Tango Team, to create marketing materials for their upcoming show. The group shot was an important shot to get, but I did not have the lens, or frankly the gear to make it happen. By employing a little creative and technical know-how, only using an mere 18MP Camera, with a simple kit lens, I created a 10K group picture, with no wide-angle warp, that looks like it was taken with a medium format camera, which they can now print out and hang up anywhere, at any size they want. Since this was also meant to be used for marketing materials, this Medium Format Camera perspective also brings much more attention to the photo than otherwise, because it's not a perspective many people see. It was the catalyst for discussion between their fans. You can always know that I have your back in thinking up and creating solutions for problems or limitations we may run into on set.
I am always aiming to think outside of the box, whether it be in how to photograph a popular landmark in a unique or never before seen way, or how to use different techniques to create a shot while jumping past certain technical or other limitations. 6 years ago, my client was barely able to buy an $800, used car. Throughout those years, he's worked very hard to construct a life that he wants. This was a commemorative photograph, meant to celebrate his accomplishments, and make a solid looking portrait of his new car. It was an important shot to get, but I did not have the lens, or frankly the gear to make it happen. By employing a little creative and technical know-how, only using an mere 18MP Camera, with a simple kit lens, I created a near 8K, ultra-sharp photo of his car, with no wide-angle warp, that he can now print out and hang up anywhere, at any size he wants. You can always know that I have your back in thinking up and creating solutions for problems we may run into on set.
Each brand, or piece, has a story. Just like in this picture, you can be confident in knowing that I don't just point and shoot. I want the background of the photo to emphasize the story of the piece in frame. Trust me. I'm thinking about how to tell a better story through my photos and videos, too.
